| Description: | Well after magic was discovered, it showed that using magic intensively had not just benefits but also its disadvantages. One of the latter was the huge amount of time one needed to study the ways of magic. Thus, one had to neglect physical training, and as a result no sorcerer was ever very strong nor hardy. To equalize this drawback, which meant that a sorcerer was easily seriously wounded in a fight, a cooperation of sorcerers, druids, and paladins was started and the magic shield spell was found. This spell shielded its caster against any damaging blow, no matter whether magical or physical, even though in the early days it didn't protect against damaging fields. None the less, this feature drains the spellcaster remarkably. Soon it showed that the spell was not necessary against weak enemies who inflicted damage just slowly, as healing spells worked better here. But against really mighty foes this spell is still not dispensable. Due to its development, this useful spell is available to druids, sorcerers, and paladins at just 450 gold coins. You need to have a magic level of at least 4 to cast this spell, and it takes 50 mana. |
